I bought this text in March 2013 and spent something like $130.
Page xxv indicates the learner should logon to pearsonhighered.com/gaddisvb
to download the student sample programs. I soon discovered this site was not yet
available and was told to wait until May. On May 15th the site was still not up and
after contacting Pearson Publishing I was told it would not be available until July 19th.
The text also contains an access code with which the learner can logon to a site known as
"myprogramminglab." After entering the access code I discovered that this web site was not yet
available. When I questioned this I was told there is no projected time for this resource to
be available. What the %^$%!
I trusted Pearson to provide a complete product when I purchased this text. Likewise, I
had faith that the authors would not release this text without all indicated resources being made
available to the learner.
While these student resources are perhaps not absolutely critical to the learning process it is a disservice and in my opinion deceitful to release this text in March with a "promise" that the student resource files will be made available 4 months later. Pearson and the authors of this text have seen my last purchase - they no longer have my trust.

Don't bother thinking that by getting the kindle version you are actually going to have more convenient access to the text book. It doesn't work on Windows 8 computers, it doesn't work in the browser, and on the kindles you can't adjust the size of the font so on the 7" device the font is around 3 point, if that, and on the 8.9" device it's about 5 point.
Spend the extra twenty dollars on the paperback and just lug it around with you. This is absolutely the worst e-textbook experience I've ever had.
Also note that you can only download it on two devices and you have to reboot your device every time you move it from one before you can load it to another.
In short don't waste your money. I refuse to spend an extra hundred dollars to get the physical book so I'll have to work around the inconvenience but save yourself the same problem and don't buy the digital version in the first place.
