Nursing care for pregnant women and children is a family-centered process, and Maternal and Child Nursing Care, 3e, is a text that addresses the needs of families across the continuum, from conception through adolescence. The themes that shape this book– nursing care in the community, client education, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice in nursing–will prepare students for the responsibility of managing care for families with diverse healthcare needs, and to work collaboratively with families and other health professionals to enhance care.

I am so disgusted with this book. I am about 6 weeks into my OB/Peds rotation and I have the following complaints(and trust me I read every chapter from start to finish):
-Errors of fact, from chapter to chapter normal vital signs change for example
-Frankly embarrassing spelling errors, and critical word substitutions for example Dysphagia instead of dysphasia. Big. Freaking. Difference.
-Syntactical errors
-Verbosity,repetitiveness and using every 10 dollar word they know I guess to mask how poorly the book is written.
I wrote to the publisher to ask why it was OK to charge me 150 dollars for a book that looks like it was edited by an 8 year old. Not in those words exactly, but they get the general idea from my tone. Just dont use this book...that's all.

This textbook is really helpful- we use it for my PEDS and OB classes. It is fairly easy to read. However, while this is the mynursinglab edition of the book, it does NOT come with a code for mynursinglab- only mynursing kit. These are two different websites and I had to purchase an extra code from Pearson to gain access to mynursinglab. It was $44. Keep this in mind if you have to have access to mynursinglab for your class!
