I don't know why people hate this series so much. I really don't get it, and probably never will.
I'm not a hardcore, die-for Twilight fan. I just really enjoy reading the whole series, and I think that Mrs. Meyer is really emotional person who really loves her characters, and that's what makes Twilight magical in its own way.
But, I'm also not saying that these books are perfect. They have some serious flaws and some questionable themes in them, but if you leave all that apart, the story itself is very enjoyable and the ambient that Meyer creates is almost touchable - that's why I understand why so many people wanted to get lost in her world.
Now, is the Twilight Saga the new Harry Potter phenomenon? Most certainly IS NOT. The two series should not be compared in the first place because they are two totally different things. I think that the main source of the comparison between those two is Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and who plays the main vampire character in Twilight, Edward Cullen. Should Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. Rowling be compared? Absolutely not! Although they both love and are connected to the characters they've created, J.K. Rowling spend years and years developing them, and Stephenie Meyer just dreamed them up and started writing about them, developing the characters as she wrote the story itself.
The Twilight Saga is a loveable and enjoyable story for people who are open minded to new things. Some people take the "sparkling vampires" way too seriously. I mean, they are invented creatures who never even existed, and if Meyer wants them to sparkle instead of burn on the sun - let it be.
Bottom line, Twilight is a phenomenon - like it or not.
The Twilight Saga gives readers hole new spin of interest for all ages. The Twilight Saga is a collection of novels written by Stephanie Myers and features a human being that has fallen in love with a vampire. It has exciting and continuous events that leaves readers wanting to know more.
The Twilight Saga captivates all ages of readers and involves them in this abnormal love story that truly gets you hooked from the beginning of the series to the very last. Teenage novels have been known to lack a sense of drama and thrill that would interest anybody outside of a younger age. However, Twilight has remarkably seemed to spike the interest of all groups of audiences.
The metaphors and word choice is what captivates the audience. Most readers are not of interest to a vampire love story. When they think of a vampire they think of a gruesome, gory event. Also, as previously stated many people did not expect to fall for a teenage novel. "I'm not usually a vampire book reader, but I haven't read a book in a long time that had as much sexual tension and creepy terror throughout as Twilight by Stephanie Meyer [Little, Brown]. The main character is extremely compelling. The protagonist is so consumed with her crush on him that she blocks everything else, and the fact that he's a vampire adds a whole other level. It really is the perfect crossover book. It will appeal to kids, who read fantasy and darker books, but also kids who like more realistic fiction like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and all those kids who read Gossip Girl... It's a riveting action book but thoughtful as well. Sometimes teen books can be plot-driven and the quality of the writing goes out the window, but this one has both."
